Overview 

1st day : Marrakesh – Dades 
We depart at 8 am. from the hotel or riad in Marrakesh, cross the High Atlas Mountains. After the Tichka pass, we leave the main road, take a side road to Telouet Kasbah, which belonged to the Glaoui family (Lords of the Atlas), it is in ruins now after the French left and the last Pasha fled. 
We continue along a the beautiful connecting road and have lunch at Ait Ben Haddou. When lunch is over we can visit the Kasbah. It is the most famous in Morocco and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then the road takes us to the Skoura Oasis, where many ancient kasbahs are located, some in ruins, stand along the palm trees. Then the road runs through Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, we will stop to see cosmetic products that are locally-made from the valley’s plentiful supply of roses. We stop and spend the night in a guest house in the Dades Gorge

2nd day : Dades – Merzouga 
We take a walk by the river after we eat breakfast and then we continuing to the unique gorges of Toudgha. When we have lunch, we will eat in the Toudgha Gorges or at the Bivouac at the Erg Chebbi dunes. We drive there by way of the Ziz Valley and the towns of Erfoud and Rissani where the king's family is from. In the afternoon you can take a one to two hour camel ride in the Sahara. The sunset from the top of the dunes is an awesome sight (250m) and afterwards there is dinner and the night in a nomad tent at the foot of the dunes. 

3rd day : Merzouga – Zagora 
If you are an early riser, you can watch the unbelievably gorgeous sunrise, that is also the time when the colour of the dunes and the shadows play, together, it’s an awesome site. Then we continue to Zagora, along the unique Dra'a Valley and all it’s kasbahs. Off road driving lets us get a more personal view of life in the villages. We can take a camel ride before dinner and then we get a good nights sleep in the tents in the Zagora dunes

4th day : Zagora – Chagaga 
In the morning we head to M’hamid and Erg Lihoudi. You can take a camel ride for one and a half hours. We will have lunch in M’hamid, it is right at the edge of the desert. When afternoon comes, we continue our trip by a 4 X4 to the Erg Chagaga dunes (300m) with 60 km off road driving to view various unique site of the desert. ; ‘erg’, ‘reg’, ‘hammada’, oases. These dunes are far away from any civilization, in the desert proper. We have dinner and spend the nightin a bivouac at the foot of the dunes. 

5th day : Chagaga – Ouarzazate 
After we eat breakfast the road crosses another 90km of desert, passing Lake Iriqui and the mountains and there are fossils for anyone interested in them. The first village past the desert, Foum Zguid, is where we have lunch and we can take a refreshing shower. We travel north past hills and oases of palm trees until we come to the town of Taznakht, a Berber town that is famous for rugs and gelims. We have lunch here and then head to Ouarzazate to spend the night in a riad. 
 
6th day : Ouarzazate – Marrakesh 
After we have breakfast we leave and visit the famous Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate, it was the original residence of Pasha of Marrakech. We also visit cinema studios and then drive cross-country to the Fint Oasis, it is nestled in the mountains, this once served as a crossroads for the caravans traveling to south Morocco. We then take the road back to Marrakech over the High Atlas. We get back by the afternoon
