1st day : Marrakesh – Fint
We leave from Marrakesh, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Then the Tichka pass, which is the highest in North Africa, we move deeper into the landscape to the Telouet Kasbah, which was once the seat of the Lords of the Atlas.
Then we drive along Ounila Valley, visiting the pink salt rock mines and we arrive at the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage site and scene of many Hollywood blockbusters, Ait ben Haddou. Then onto the Atlas Film Studios, here, scores of these films were made and some set are still left intact : Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Kundun, Game of Thrones ….We have a guest house to spend the night in a private Berber oasis where some scenes from the show Game of Thrones were shot !

2nd day : Fint – Dades
We continue to travel through the Skoura Oasis, Kasbahs are mostly in ruins, then Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, we stop and see the cosmetic products of the valley’s plentiful roses. An off-road route leads us through interesting landscape and local villages. In the Valley we can have tea Berber nomads. In the fertile Dades Valley, you spend the night with a Berber family and you are welcome to climb mpuntains and caves with other Berber nomads for a couple of hours. You will sleep in a traditional guest house by the Dades River, it will put you to sleep as you listen to the river flowing and the quiet night and breathe the wonderful mountain air.

3rd day : Dades – Merzouga
After we eat breakfast, we can take a walk by the river before we continue to Toudgha and the very unique gorges there. Then, near Tinjdad, we see the remains of 4-5 types of actual dinosaurs. Then we visit Erfoud, the most famous area for its numerous fossil finds and the workshops that turn them into artefacts. In the afternoon you can take a two-hour camel ride in the Sahara into the sunset. Later there is dinner and then at night you can relax back at the bivouac in a nomad tent enjoying music and a campfire.

4th day : Merzouga
After we eat breakfast, there is a little time for sand-boarding before taking the camels for a ride or walk alongside you as they carry luggage and provisions for sleeping and meals. We will walk for three hours in the morning and three in the afternoon until we arrive at the oasis for the night. Lunch is out in the dunes and is prepared by the camel-man.

5th day : Merzouga – Agdez
Early risers can watch the gorgeous sunrise, when the colour of the dunes and the shadows play, together. It’s an incredible sight. We return to the bivouac on camels and continue to the Dra’a Valley by way of the village of Tazzarine (featured in the film ‘Babel’), and on to N’Qob for lunch. In the afternoon we join the Dra’a Valley with its palm trees full of dates and ancient villages. Later in the afternoon, we stop in Agdez at the oldest Kasbah in the Valley, Tamnougalte, for the night. It was built in the 17th Century.

6th day : Agdez – Marrakesh
After we have breakfast we can visit an ancient Kasbah, preserved for some thirteen resident families. Then over the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifte (1660m), this was also featured in one of the most dramatic and crucial scenes of “Babel”, we reach Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. Then onto another museum full of Hollywood film sets. The trip ends across the High Atlas and Tichka pass, overlooking the mud-brick Berber villages, almost indistinguishable from the mountains themselves.
